Carolina Astudillo Muñoz (Santiago de Chile) is a documentary filmmaker. Degree in Social Communication from the University of Santiago de Chile. Postgraduate Diploma in Film Studies from the Catholic University of Chile and MA in Creative Documentary from the Autònoma University of Barcelona (UAB).
She has always been inspired by women and their relationship to political struggle and collective memory working through historical research, writing and found-footage under a poetical approach.
Her documentaries Of Monsters and Skirts (2008), The Unspeakable (2012), The Civilization Desire: Notes of The Great Flight (2014) and The Great Flight (2014), have been exhibited in several national and international festivals.
She has been invited to show her work at the Université Paris-Sorbonne, Franche-Comte, in France, and Universidad de Chile, Universidad de Santiago and Universidad Diego Portales, in Chile.
In the educational field she has given courses and seminars on Documentary Film Theory and Found Footage in different universities and Cinema Schools such as Universidad de Santiago, and Universidad Chileno-Británico de Cultura in Chile, La Casa del Cine and the Escola de Cinema de Barcelona, among others.
